Everything is at stake and we are called to respond. It is time to act, to build with our hands and our judgment,
It is time to demonstrate courage in the face of adversity and restore our communities, land, and bodies to life.
It was said, by the Hopi people, that in this moment of our history as a people we would find ourselves in a reckoning.
The Hopi elders saw this reckoning as a river of truth.
A reckoning is both a place and a way. The land is wiped clean. The account is complete and the people are once more free to claim their sovereignty and build a new world upon it.
A reckoning of this nature, the truth of the river, represents a profound challenge not to be underestimated. What happens next is up to us.
That is why we built the Heresy Community
WE STAND AT THE GREAT HORIZON
And now this is ‘an inheritance’ –
Upright, rudimentary, unshitably planked
In the long ago, yet willable forward.
Again and again and again.

WHO IS WITH US. . .
More of us than anyone counted.
A rancher who watched the wealth of her valley leave for generations and decided the leaving ends with her.
An investor who wants his money to build the places where people actually live. A veteran who trains civilians because the training gave him his life back.
A founder building her company in the town where her kids go to school. A practitioner who works with bodies and knows where the culture stores its grief.
A teacher, a nurse, a pastor, a machinist, a mayor.
We come from every walk of life, and we arrived at the same water by different roads. Each of us can see what needs to get done.
Each of us went looking for our people, and here they were.
