Wealth is the durable health of people, communities, and land.
For four hundred years, our economy has run on a different premise: if it can't be priced, it doesn't count.
That story drained money out of towns and time out of days. It turned local banks into branches of distant firms and family dinners into logistics problems. It made three out of four American adults chronically ill, then sold us cures for the diseases it caused.
And nearly imperceptibly it did something else: it made the obvious unsayable. Common sense became heresy. Meanwhile, a handful took the substrate—the banks, the land, the water rights, the main streets.
Heresy, from the Greek hairéomai: to choose. So we took the name, and we're choosing.
01: A THRIVING ECONOMY
It turns out, wealth that serves the people wins on the conventional scoreboard too.
Costco was built by paying people enough to live and refusing to gouge the people it served—and it thrives today. Cleveland, Ohio and Preston, England began to rebuild their economies by keeping money circulating close to home and watched it compound. Scotland saw the data and wrote it into law.
Money that moves through a place feeds it. Money that drains out starves it. This isn't ideology; it's circulation. Ask your body how that works.
Heresy builds the tools that make this way of creating wealth visible, accessible, and inevitable.
02: WHAT WE DO
Stewardship. Reciprocity. Beauty. Connection to place. These aren’t values on a Hallmark card; they’re the very ground of a flourishing economy. We're restoring the vocabulary of wealth that got stamped out.
→ WRITING & MEDIAA new story, in old words. Our current indices can't see the assets that actually sustain a community—the trust, the know-how, the land held in common, the health. The Index makes what communities already know admissible in the court where capital decides.
→ THE INDEXA new measure.Thousands are already building this way via co-ops, community banks, farms, funds, workshops, PBCs. For fifty years, these scattered efforts have lost to coordinated capital. We're gathering the builders into one body that knows its own strength.
→ COMMUNITYA home for the builders.Services

A working practice for individuals and teams holding felt tension, between competing commitments, the long run and this quarter, what the numbers say and what the situation demands. Every situation carries a perfect logic hiding inside it, and surfacing that logic gives action real purpose and real success. It's how we work. Bring it into what you're creating.
